KYT AMERICAS’ PARKER SHELL TAKES PRO IRONMAN PODIUM AT 2026 VEGAS TO RENO
Brandon CretuNevada — August 2026 — KYT Americas Marketing Director Parker Shell put the same products he represents every day to the ultimate test, completing all 505 miles of the 2026 Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno and earning an impressive third-place finish in the Pro Ironman class. Competing in the grueling Ironman category meant tackling the entire 505-mile race solo—an enormous test of physical endurance, mental toughness, navigation and equipment.
Heavy rain the night before the race created unusually cool temperatures and excellent dirt conditions for the opening half of the event. Starting last off the line, Shell quickly worked his way through the field and into the battle for second and third.
His charge wasn't without adversity.

A navigation error cost Shell valuable time, and later in the race he arrived at Pit 4 ahead of his small two-person chase crew. With fuel becoming an immediate concern, fellow members of the off-road community stepped in with extra gas to help keep his race alive.
From there, Shell put his head down and charged. Over the remaining miles, he fought to regain lost ground and pushed through the physical and mental exhaustion that comes with racing more than 500 miles alone through the Nevada desert.
After 505 miles, Shell crossed the finish line P3 in the Pro Ironman class.
“Grateful to be healthy, grateful to finish, and already looking forward to what’s next,” Shell said following the race.
For KYT Americas, Shells Vegas to Reno podium represents something much bigger than another racing result. It represents exactly what the people behind KYT Americas believe the company should be.
We don't want to simply sell helmets to racers. We ARE racers.
